In and around Pune there are symbols and reminders of its rich and glorious history. Some of them are:

  • Panchgani & Mahabaleshwar - Also popular Hill Resorts.
  • Asta Vinayak - Eight temples of Lord Ganesh around Pune.
  • Bhimashankar - A hill top temple of Lord Shiva, one of the 12 jyotirlingas in India.
  • Jejuri - A hill temple of Lord Khandoba, the diety of Maharashtra.
  • Malshej Ghat - A bird sanctuary.
  • Kamar Ali Darvesh Dargah - A place of pilgramage for both Hindus and Muslims.
  • Ajanta Ellora Caves - World famous and near Aurangabad (about 240 kms from Pune).
