Davar established his own school of dancing in 1992, Shiamak Davar Institute for
the Performing Arts (SDIPA), which is famous in India and is responsible for
bringing out some of the best talents in the Country. Originally with two
centres in Mumbai, today there are branches in all the major Indian cities,
including Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Goa, Hyderabad.
SDIPA is known for teaching all kind of dances and potential professional
dancers have an intensive training session where the students are auditioned by
Davar. Not all students join with the intention of becoming professional
dancers, some join for fun, for exercise and to lose weight.
At the end of each workshop conducted by SPIDA, there is a class presentation or
a stage show organised by the Institute. The shows are organised twice a year
know as Summer Funk and Winter Funk.
SDIPA's motto is "Have feet will dance".
